Water Resistant fabric has been treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) to repel water from the surface. This allows rain beads to roll off to keep the material as dry as possible, for as long as possible. Water Resistant items are ideal for light rain or limited exposure to heavier rain.

Lightweight fabric is perfect for activities such as hiking, walking or cycling. It provides a layer of protection without adding bulk.
Breathable

How to Choose a Softshell Jacket
What is a softshell jacket? Softshell jackets is a lightweight outerwear option that have become extremely popular in recent years. Their woven fabric construction makes them breathable, warm & windproof. Most importantly, softshell is much more flexible than the stiffer fabrics used for traditional hardshell jackets. This makes them more comfortable and allows greater freedom of movement.
What are they used for? Softshells can be used for a wide range of activities, either as a standalone jacket or as an extra, windproof midlayer underneath a waterproof in extreme conditions. Their breathability and flexibility make them popular with runners, cyclists, climbers and skiers. They are also a great option for casual activities such as walking the dog, short hikes or around town.
Weather Conditions? Softshells are water resistant, rather than fully waterproof. This means that, while a great option in dry conditions or light rain, they are not built for storms or heavy rain.
